چکیده
Recent experimental results on the proton and neutron polarizabilities are examined from the point of view of backward dispersion relations. Results are found to be in reasonable agreement with the measured values. A rigorous relationship between the nucleon and pion polarizabilities is derived and shown to be in excellent agreement with several models. The electromagnetic emission rates at SPS energies satisfy spectral constraints in leading order in the pion and nucleon densities. These constraints follow from the strictures of broken chiral symmetry. We saturate these constraints using available data, leading to model independent emission rates from a hadronic gas. With a simple fire-ball scenario, only large nucleon densities may account f...

Phase transitions in neutron stars due to formation of quark matter, kaon condensates, etc. are discussed with particular attention to the order of these transitions. Observational consequences of phase transitions in pulsar angular velocities are examined.

The leading perturbative contributions into the two-point gauge-invariant correlator T rgF µν (x)U(x, 0)U(0, y)gF ρσ (y)U(y, 0)U(0, x) are calculated at the one-loop order. It is shown, that nonlocal condensate T rα s F µν F µν is nonzero at this order. The relation with the renormalization properties of Wilson loops is briefly discussed.
